To get more clients, means you need more people to sign up for your list. But, where do these new subscribers come from? You get them by increasing the traffic to your web pages that offer something irresitible. This article outlines the top things to do to achieve this:
Driving traffic to your site must be a priority for any serious business owner. This is an ongoing task, and it is most effective to combine a variety of sources to give your potential clients the best chances of finding you. Some of the top traffic sources are:
Pay per click ads : Facebook, Google Ad Words, Bing, Yahoo all have pay per click advertising. Pay per click (PPC) is where you pay every time someone clicks on your advert. PPC has gotten a bad reputation as it is incredibly easy to waste a lot of money here. The key is to make sure that your ad is targetted to your ideal client so that you are not paying for people to click your ad who are never going to want to take your service.
Youtube: If you are comfortable creating videos then YouTube may be a great source of potential clients for you. Create your video ad, ideally between 3-7 minutes duration and make sure that your video ends with a clear call to action inviting your viewer to your opt-in page to enter their contact details in exchance for some valuable content.
Joint Venture Partners: The first two options above are sources of "cold" leads - in other words people who do not know you, if you can build a network of joint venture partners you can generate a free source of "warm" traffic. Warm traffic is where they already know a bit about you, and in the case of join venture partners they will have heard about you and your services from your partner praising your skills and service.
Giveaways and Summits: These can be an incredibly effective way to generate a heap of fresh prospects for your business. In essence a giveaway is where a number of professionals in a similar field work together, each paying for advertising to the giveaway. Once in the giveaway your potential clients can choose from your offer or the offer of the other participants. Giveaways work because it taps into the power of a group - many people pay a small amount of advertising so that overall the effect is for a large volume of traffic to your offer. Yes that same traffic will also see the other offers but if you are confident you have a valuable resource to offer you can generate a heap of leads from these events.
As you start to get more traffic, your list will start to grow, but don’t stop there. Tweak your opt in-forms to increase conversion. Create a new lead magnet to get the attention of a different sub-group of your target audience. Set up a few dedicated opt-in pages and start driving traffic to them. Do what you can to continually grow your list. Use every opportunity to offer your gift and so increase your list. At speaking events make sure there is something your audience can take away in exchange for their contact details, on your blog posts and social media posts have a link to your offer pages.
The third piece of the puzzle and where things get really interesting is turning those subscribers into clients. To do this you use your email sequence to build a relationship and create a funnel to showcase your service to your prospective clients. When done well you will find people contacting you to ask to work with you and responding to your offers for consults or webinars.
The real power of this approach becomes apparent when you start to look at how these three things work in synergy. By getting more and higher quality traffic, while improving your opt-in rates, and creating a mechanism to turn those prospects into paying clients, you can quickly make a huge difference in your bottom line which in turn enables you to help and serve more people. Each of these elements on their own will help, but by combining them, you will start to see exponential growth.
Let me illustrate this with an example. Let’s say you start out with 100 new visitors per day to your opt-in page and 10 percent of them sign up for your mailing list, which equals 10 new subscribers each day. One of these people buys one of your introductory programs for $10.
Now consider doubling your traffic. With nothing else changing, you go from making $10 per day to $20. But what if you can also improve your opt-in forms and get to a 20% conversion rate? You could also create a few more programs and each of your clients ends up taking 3 products instead of just 1.
Add all that up and will see how you go from 1 new client a day to 40 new subscribers each day which means 4 new clients. If each of these takes 3 of your programs spending $30, you end up making $120 a day. That’s a pretty big bump from $10 for just doubling your traffic. Now imagine that of those 4 new clients for your programs one decides to take your package of 6 coaching sessions for $1,000. You can see I'm sure how you can readily create a stable business where you get to serve and help many many people.
